BCBG – MAX AZRIA presented the Spring/Summer 2015 Collection at NYFW styled by CHI Hair Care, combining timeless elegance with nonchalantly bohemian silhouettes.
Distinctive, with a touch of ethereal, the collection embodies her carefree spirit, creating a lasting impression. This inspired Orlando Pita to create a signature look combining various interpretations of “straight”. To achieve, one styling product by CHI called CHI 44 Iron Guard served as his go-to styling aid.
How To Get the Look
Orlando Pita says, “this collection is Bohemian Spirited with a little node back to the 60’s, we are talking about a free-spirited girl, although she does care about style and looking good, but isn’t too worked.”
– Prepare the hair by spraying CHI 44 Iron Guard Style and Stay Firm Hold Protecting Spray. Orlando Pita: “The hair should be all one length and utilizing existing texture or wave in the hair.”
– Begin styling by drying with your fingers running them through the hair to slightly pull it straight (no brush is needed) using the CHI Touch Screen Blow Dryer and nozzle attachment. This helps to control airflow while your fingers smooth the hair semi straight. “I wanted the hair to look natural and not straight allowing that “California Girl” look to come through,” says Orlando.
– When dry, create a slightly off center part. Take your CHI Touch Screen Blow Dryer at the top of the head moving the hair back with your fingers and lifting for volume so there is a slight bump.
– To finish, spay additional CHI 44 Iron Guard and then use the CHI G2 Ceramic & Titanium Digital Hairstyling Iron to straighten the ends about the last 2 inches. The stylist explains: “I want the hair to look effortless with some texture using one styling product, a blow dryer and flat iron on the very ends.”
Orlando Pita’s Pro Stylist Tip: “Most clients that come into the salon look for a smoother and more styled look. They don’t want a messy finish and want to leave the salon looking like they had their hair done.”
