Noise in Warsaw: A Global Underground Hair Art Phenomenon

Last Tuesday night, Warsaw witnessed an unparalleled spectacle in the beauty industry with the debut of the Noise hair show in Poland.

Noise Warsaw, a whirlwind of raw creativity and underground innovation, featured an international roster of hairdressing brands that captivated the Polish audience reunited at the amazing Kultura Wysoka space in Warsaw. Founded in 2012 by visionary hairdresser Richard Ashforth, Noise emerged as an alternative to the conventional corporate shows that the beauty industry frequently offers, challenging the established norms of our profession. The show has been staged in various cities such as London, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Seoul; however, this was its inaugural appearance in Warsaw.

From the UK, Saco dazzled onlookers with their mastery of texture and geometrically shaped hairstyles, setting a high standard for the night. The local talent was not far behind, with Sebastian Curylo from Poland presenting a mind-bending performance. His surreal styles seemed to live and breathe on stage — growing, moving, and even emitting smoke in a bizarre display of hair art.

Ukraine’s contribution was powerfully represented by Anton Kochetkov, who brought to life fierce female warriors. Their dramatic styles and vibrant, artistic hair colors reflected a strong narrative of empowerment and boldness. Andrey Krupchinsky, straddling his heritage from Ukraine and Poland, crafted avant-garde looks that added a rich layer of outstanding texture to the show.

Spain’s X-Presion pushed the boundaries of hairdressing into the realm of fine, intricate art. Their intricate braids adorned with jewel accessories and innovative hair coloring techniques showcased a futuristic vision of hair art. Finally, from the USA, PG Zoo —the underground persona of the legendary Peter Gray— unveiled aggressive hairstyles that incorporated elements like barbwire, challenging conventional aesthetics and thrilling the adventurous crowd.

The event concluded with a DJ-led afterparty that kept the high spirits alive, celebrating a successful night of artistic hairdressing. As reported by Estetica Magazine, the Noise show in Warsaw was not just a display of hairdressing skills but a cultural phenomenon that left the audience awe-inspired and looking forward to more!

The excitement continues as the next Noise show is set to take place in Manchester on June 23rd, during the highly anticipated HairCon event.
