The Modern Day Diana is a Collection of Hairstyles Inspired by Princess Diana and How She Could Look Today By Celebrity Stylist Nick Stenson.

As we celebrate the 60^th birthday of Princess Diana, we are most likely wondering what would she look like? What would her style be now? How would she take on today’s trends?  To honor her iconic look, celebrity hairstylist Nick Stenson has gathered a collection of hairstyles that would capture the “People’s Princess” in modern day looks, sharing how we can continue her legacy of style.

“This hair color is EXACTLY the way I believe Princess Diana would be wearing her hair, if she were around these days,” Nick Stenson explains.  “The length is a little longer than we saw her wearing her hair, but the texture and movement within the style are the same. Using a large round brush and some texture spray, you can replicate this same soft texture too.”

Nick Stenson loves how pops of vibrant color can bring a classic look instantly into a modern one. Would Princess Diana embrace today’s color trends? “She was always on the cutting edge of fashion and a peek of color just might be something she would surprise us with.”

Nick Stenson selected curls as a style Princess Diana would love. It expresses freedom which is something she strove for. This hairstyle was created by Ammon Carver who styled this forward-facing look by allowing the loose curls to fall forward onto the forehead for a balanced mushroom shape. Carver explains that “the freedom of the curls to move in the wind reminds me of the effortless femininity that Diana also used in some of her hair looks.”

Nick suggests this style ideal for dinner or the theatre. The color would not be ideal but it would show off her elegance while still making a statement. This was created by Ammon Carver. “Take a look at the simple, almost regal styling,” Carver notes. “The style is simple and sophisticated, not flashy or trying too hard, which are all qualities that I find The Princess inspires to this day.”

Nick Stenson’s Ulta Beauty Pro Team member Sonya Dove tells us, “I wanted to create a soft haircut with lots of layers inspired by my most favorite person in the world, the late Princess Diana. Being British myself she was always an inspiration to me. This haircut can be blow dried forward to achieve a soft shape or away from the face to give volume.”

According to Nick, “Princess Diana’s beautiful blonde hair would show off this style true to a Princess and I believe she would be open to many variations of the Modern Day Diana.”
