Stylist Kelsey Morgan used Kevin.Murphy to create a fresh winter, ski-inspired hair look for Heimstone’s fall 2015 presentation at NYFW.
“The first thing I think of when going skiing or being in cold winter weather is hat head,” explains Morgan. “But in this case… chic hat head.” Morgan started with this concept and created a modern look with sleek, stiff roots on top and soft, wavy hair on bottom with wispy, almost static-looking ends.
To get the look, Morgan started by applying Kevin.Murphy Anti.Gravity and Hair.Resort.Spray to the areas of the hair where a hat would cover – from hair roots to mid-shaft of the hair. Leaving the ends bare. She used her fingers while drying the hair to create some separation.
Once the sleek, piece-y top was complete, a soft wave was created on bottom working with each model’s natural texture. Powder.Puff was dusted throughout the mid-shaft to ends of the hair to give hair a soft, dry texture. The look was finished with Un.Dressed and Session.Spray on the “hat area” only to provide firm texture and hold.
