Aveda Global Styling Director Allen Ruiz envisions a fusion of urban street and modern elegance for Ann Yee’s SS2014 collection.
When designing her Spring-Summer 2014 Ann Yee was inspired “by the history of urban Detroit, Michigan – USA, its current crumbling economic state, combined with an appreciation for the survivalist spirit of the city as it moves towards a transformation. The collection entitled – Resurgence – revels in the structured, metallic elements of the auto industry and the draped, angular silhouettes of the city’s weathered buildings against the skyline.”
To further enhance these edgy styles, Aveda Global Styling Director, Allen Ruiz, created what he referred to as “urban street style colliding with shiny, modern elegance”. Two tight French braids line the side of the head over the ear to join at a thin pony tail at the nape of the neck, evoking and ethnic style of corn-rowing while the hair on top is twisted up and back before being allowed to flow freely down the back. Mixed mediums for a perfect fusion of street style and sleek austerity.
