Congratulations on opening your new studio in Hertford, Hertfordshire! What inspired you to take this next step in your career?
“Thank you! The inspiration stemmed from my journey, which began in my parent’s conservatory back in 2002. Starting from such humble beginnings, I taught myself the craft and nurtured a vision of creating a dedicated space where I could merge my passions for barbering, photography, and education. I wanted to create a creative space and build a team of like minded people to represent the brand and be the best version of themselves. Establishing Luchmun Studios is the realization of that long-held dream.“
Your work as Men’s Hairdresser of the Year has set a benchmark in the industry. How do you envision your new studio reflecting your signature style and philosophy?
“Winning the Men’s Hairdresser of the Year award was a significant milestone. Especially winning it for the second time, and doing everything myself from the photography, to the styling, to the hair! At Luchmun Studios, I aim to embody the fusion of traditional barbering and high-end men’s hairdressing that defines my work. The studio is designed to be a creative hub where classic techniques meet contemporary styles, ensuring each client experiences a personalized and innovative service.“
What is the concept or vision behind the design and atmosphere of your new space? How did you make it unique?
“The concept behind Luchmun Studios is to create a versatile environment that caters to multiple creative pursuits. The ground floor serves as a men’s hairdressing and grooming salon, providing top-tier services in a comfortable setting. Upstairs, we’ve established a full photographic studio and editing suite, allowing for seamless integration of hairdressing and photography. This dual-purpose design makes the space unique, fostering creativity and collaboration under one roof.“
Education has always been an important part of your career. Will your new studio include space for workshops, photography, or training sessions?
“Absolutely. Education is a cornerstone of my professional journey. Luchmun Studios is equipped to host workshops and training sessions, aiming to inspire and mentor the next generation of barbers and stylists. The photographic studio upstairs also provides an excellent setting for educational content creation and hands-on learning experiences.“
You’ve become a global name in men’s grooming. What challenges or opportunities do you see in balancing the creative and business sides of your work?
“Balancing creativity with business is indeed a challenge, but it’s also an opportunity to innovate. My experience, from working with international brands to freelancing, has taught me the importance of merging artistic vision with strategic planning. At Luchmun Studios, I strive to maintain this balance by fostering a creative environment that also emphasizes professionalism and client satisfaction.“

“The men’s grooming industry has seen a significant shift towards personalized and high-quality services, with a growing appreciation for traditional techniques blended with modern styles.
