The Dance Hall Collection by Project Afro drew its inspiration from last year’s 75th anniversary tribute celebrations to the of Windrush Generation.
With some members of The Fellowship‘s Project Afro team which created the Dance Hall Collection, as well as team leader Jacqui Mcintosh are direct descendants from the Windrush Generation. We felt this was something to pay homage too. “The collection consisted of a combination of what we had learnt on the project but also memories of our own childhood,” explains Jacqui. “We wanted to ensure that the collection comes through as a celebration. Whilst shooting this set, our models moved and danced to Caribbean music, with smiles on their face and a sense of nostalgia from the music their grandparents used to play.”
