The Inspiration of the Balmain Renaissance Collection
Pierre Balmain, who began studying architecture before becoming a couturier, believed that “dressmaking is the architecture of movement”. His fascination with the French labyrinths resulted in the creation of the brand’s PB logo motif back in 1945.
Today, the house’s Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing, reinterpreted this labyrinth pattern for his recently introduced 1945 collection. This new collection captures the essence of the Renaissance era, its ornate architecture, lavish furnishings, plastered ceilings, shimmering mirrors and meticulous gardens, through the traditional elements of luxury.
