Image, style, concept: these are the three key elements in the portrait of hairstylist, Carlo Bay, who will perform on the Estetica Master Parade by Cosmoprof stage on March 19th in Bologna as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.
Born in Arezzo, he has always worked in Florence, where in 1985 he started up Carlo Bay Diffusion, a chain that currently numbers 25 salons between the four Italian regions of Tuscany, Liguria, Lombardy, and Veneto, as well as abroad: two in France, two in Moscow, one in Kazakhstan, one in Damascus, and one in Beirut. Other new salons are soon to open in the Arab Emirates.
In 1990, in addition to the salon business, the Accademia di Firenze was opened, a training school for hairdressers who are just starting out to salon owners.
In 1999 a franchising network was born, the Carlo Bay System, to guarantee the reliability and professionalism of selected salons, while since 2002 the Club Carlo Bay has gathered together more than eighty salons in all of Italy linked to a single training project. Over the years, two lines of products have also been added: Carlo Bay Luxury Hair, products dedicated to the care and cosmetics of hair; and Carlo Bay Make Up.
Over the course of his professional career, Bay has never abandoned his stylistic research and innovation, which have brought him to collaborate with prestigious names in the world of fashion and photography, like the well-known photographer Aldo Fallai.
Carlo Bay will be one of the 8 hairstylists performing on the Estetica Master Parade by Cosmoprof stage on March 19th 2017 in Bologna. The show celebrates 50 years of Cosmoprof: each hairdresser has been entrusted with the task of interpreting a decade of hair fashion, from the 1960s to the future with 2020.
