The New Year is a perfect time to reassess why you do what you do everyday. In an organization like Intercoiffure, which holds an immeasurable amount of talent in its members, many are hairdressers-turned-salon-owners-turned-entrepreneurs, or celebrity hairdressers with a star-studded Instagram.
Now there is a chance to put those skills in a competitive platform and remind these members that ultimately, it all started with a pair of scissors. ICA Nouveau Creative Cut, Color & Texture Contest is open for the 2017 entries, and this is the perfect moment to reevaluate what brought each and every member to the craft; creativity and passion for hair.

WHAT IS IT?
A Creative Cutting and Color contest to showcase new talent and acquire experience in their profession on a national and international level.
WHO CAN ENTER?
Entry is limited to licensed Cosmetologists who are employees of an Intercoiffure America/Canada “A” member and have been licensed five (5) years or less or under the age of 27.
HOW TO ENTER?

Image Specifications: All digital images must be submitted on CD or DVD. All image files must be in JPEG (.jpg) format. Files must be RGB, at a minimum of 300 DPI and no smaller than 8” x 10”. Photographs and slides will NOT be accepted. The CD or DVD should contain the model’s hair “before” and the model’s finished look. Submit only 1 image of each. Professional photography for model’s finished look is encouraged.

HOW ARE THE WINNERS SELECTED?
Judging consist of two rounds:
The first round involves online voting from Intercoiffure’s “A” members. Online voting opens Wednesday, February 15, 2017 and closes Friday, February 17, 2017 at 6:00pm (EST). This round narrows the entries to Top “10” Finalists. The second round will take place the day of the Intercoiffure event.
Round two will be judged by Van Council, Intercoiffure America Canada Artistic Director, and magazine editors from Estetica USA, Modern Salon, American Salon, LaunchPad and Sophisticates will determine the first, second and third place winners.
