A study of different moods and light to create a reference to the past, in classic structure and shapes. Brought into the now using classic techniques and razor cutting and different effects, subtle changes take place in each study.
Influences came from film noir and the painting of ‘The Girl with a Pearl Earring’. To achieve the right amount of play on light and shade each image had to portray a lost soul that was using the strong hair to mask its own vulnerability. Keynote styling points were a very aggressive texture to the long hair and defined lines to the straight bobs with a very strong fringe.
