2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim with partner SwimShow marks 10 years of celebrating fabulous fashion – of nylon, spandex and polyester creations that ultimately are paraded along the world’s sexiest beaches!
Many industry insiders were in attendance and Miami Swim Week is an event you just can’t miss! The hair looks were very delicate, beachy, and feminine, and we have the inside scoop on how to get the look straight from Unite Haircare and BLO Blow Dry Bar-Brickell!
- Show: FRANKIE’s BIKINIS
- Location: Raleigh-Oasis Tent
Hair Team: UNITE Haircare led by Chanel Munoz-Peraza of BLO Blow Dry Bar-Brickell
Hair Inspiration: There were two separate hair looks for the Frankie’s Bikinis show both inspired by a Boho, Free People feeling with an added accent of the ocean. Both looks shared a beachy texture with peek-a-boo hair accents in the colors of the ocean while one was braided into a loose fishtail and the other was free to relax with the perfectly disheveled beach wave.
Step-by-Steps:
BEACH WAVE
1. Spray UNITE TEXTURIZA though out the hair for added volume, texture, fullness and hold.
2. Create a loose beach wave by using the UNITE Pro-System Flat Iron and winding the hair through in an “S” pattern
3. Spray with UNITE TRICKY Lite for added hold and separation.
4. Shake hair out using fingers.
5. Insert pre-made Blue Ombre Yarn Extension using wig clips through hair for a peek-a-boo look
6. Emulsify UNITE CONUNDRUM in hands and dust through hair to eliminate any frizz.
FISHTAIL BRAID
1. Spray UNITE TEXTURIZA though out the hair for added volume, texture, fullness and hold.
2. Create a loose beach wave by using the UNITE Pro-System Flat Iron and winding the hair through in an “S” pattern
3. Create a horizontal section from ear to ear on the back of the head, clip the top away.
4. Take long string of different colored yarn and tie in a knot around a small section of hair. Place approx. 3-5 in a row.
5. Pull hair to the side and complete a fishtail braid incorporating the yarn as if they were hair.
6. Place an elastic at the end and choose to either cut the remaining yarn or leave on as an added effect.
