Poor Things by Kobi Bokshish & Monique van Baal

A visual elegy in black and white, this is the latest, awe-inspiring hair fashion by hair artists Kobi Bokshish and Monique van Baal.

In a world where beauty is born from the unusual, ‘Poor Things’ by Kobi Bokshish and Monique van Baal rises as an editorial that challenges conventional aesthetics. Inspired by expressionist cinema, intense gazes, and bodies nearly frozen in time. Each image tells a story without words: women who don’t quite fit, creatures beautiful in their strangeness, tragic figures dressed in garments that merge the antique with the distorted.

Worn lace, deconstructed corsets, and silhouettes that float between the theatrical and the surreal. ‘Poor Things’ does not seek to please. It seeks to fascinate, unsettle, and enchant those who still believe that fashion can be a visual scream, a dark poem, or a distorted mirror of what we are.

This fascinating collection photographed by the one and only Vishal Baharani is a bold tribute to imperfection—where hair, fashion, and photography collide to reveal the haunting beauty of the unconventional.
