Hair icon Errol Douglas MBE, has been awarded the prestigious global award AHIA International Hairdresser of the Year 2022 at the Creative Australian Hair Industry Awards 2022.

Monday 13th June saw Australia’s leading creatives joining together at the International Convention Centre, Sydney for the annual gala awards evening to honour their peers. British hairdressing received an honour at the event, as London’s Errol Douglas MBE also received the AHIA International Hairdresser of the Year 2022 award.
Launched in 2012 by esteemed trade visionaries Mocha Publishing, the AHIA’s are celebrating their 10th year. They are a trusted national award platform. They also provide a benchmark of excellence across both specialist and individual Educational and Business categories. This is the second year that the Creative categories get their own awards program.


Errol is a favourite with clients and also industry peers. He receives global recognition as an ultimate artisan within the hairdressing industry. Renowned for his stunning photographic, session and also event work, Errol has won dozens of the world’s most coveted awards. During his tenure as elected President of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, Errol championed young industry talent. He also created a bigger international profile for UK Hairdressing. He now occupies the Fellowship’s first Ambassador role, raising awareness of the UK Hair Industry on an ongoing basis.

The evening saw 800 of the most talented hairdressers and teams watch on as the awards announcements took place; with the gala night MC’d by Creative Director, Host and Media Personality Adam Williams. A team of the best names and brands in the industry brought the evening together including brand partners O&M, Revlon Professional, ghd, Excellent Edges and Amazing Hair.
