The Thrive Sessions are quickly becoming the best place for hands-on education. Started by industry icon, Sally Rogerson, founder of SR Academy and Education, the SR Education team packed classes with over 300 students in 2 days.
The SR Education Team boasts some of the industry’s most dedicated educators. SR Speed Foiling class is always the first to book up, led by Misty Weeks who delivers great foiling hacks for busy stylists. Classes like SR Razor class lead by Cale Horibe, and Modern Cutting class explored the IT GIRL SHAG with SR educator Jeremy Abraham, offers something to challenge even the most seasoned stylists.
Other amazing classes included coloring with Jay Wesley Olsen, Blonding with Dennis Gebhart, Blowdrying with Ibiza Brushes, Networth & Bill, a financial literacy course for hairstylists by Beyond Beauty School, Sid Sottung Barbering. And to round out the experience, a wellness class lead by SR educator Jessie Frye. Amazing classes were also hosted by the fantastic new color line from Italy, Professional by Fama. Award-winning photographer John Rawson led an insightful editorial workshop, taking a deep dive into competition photography. Also launching her premier line of styling products AIIR Professional, Jenny Strebe @theconfessionsofahairstylist always brings the best with her braiding and up-do styling workshop.
The most exciting part of the weekend was definitely the new Thrive Sessions Competition. Competitors were sent an amazing doll head, sponsored by Hair Art Products, styling products from Formula 18, and a kit valued at $1000 of color by Professional by Fama, to prep and color before the competition. The energy in the room was nothing short of electric as contestants did all the cutting and styling live during this 90-minute competition while attendees voted for the top three finalists. As the competition was livestreaming, followers and supporters could also vote on their favorite looks.
The 3 finalists will return to the SR Academy in May 2020 to work with a live model on a photoshoot mentored by John Rawson and Sally Rogerson. Finalists looks will be open to voting by SR followers and Estetica Magazine supporters. The grand prize winner, boasting a digital cover with Estetica Magazine, will be announced June 2020!
The finale to a wonderful weekend was the opportunity to see the founder and owner of Thrive Sessions show her stuff. Sally Rogerson took to the stage to showcase the latest SR Education trends with wonderful models cut and colored by Sally and her SR team, working alongside the Professional by Fama team.
Delivering so many different artists at every show, with a spotlight on hands-on practical work, SR Education teaches you to THRIVE in any salon.
