Next October 23rd in Milano, the International Creative Director of Sassoon will perform on the stage of Estetica Master Parade by Cosmoprof. We met him to talk about fashion, Milan, and Estetica.
We asked Mark Hayes, International Creative Director of Sassoon and soon to be a star of Estetica Master Parade in Milan, about his relationship with the city of Milan and with Italian fashion, as well as his thoughts about Estetica and its first 70 years.
“I went to Milan for the first time with Vidal and his team during the mid-1980s… I immediately fell in love with the unique style that permeates the city. Naturally Milan is an international capital of art and design, as well as being one of the four top capitals of fashion on a global level, which over the course of the years has developed its own approach, characterised, in my opion, by an austere luxury, simplicity, and quality materials.”
He adds: “It’s not surprising that many of the best fashion stylists have their headquarters in Italy, and I believe that at this time Milan is charged with energy and freshness thanks to the new Creative Director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, who has inaugurated a new era of beauty since taking this position in 2015.”
His thoughts about Estetica and our first 70 years? “Over the past 70 years Estetica has represented trends in professional hairdressing on an international level, with journalistic quality and verve. The images inside are simply of the highest quality, while the articles are interesting and captivating. It is no surprise that such a prestigious magazine is celebrating its seventieth birthday today,” says Mark.
Mark Hayes will be one of the 6 top hairstylists featured on the runway of Estetica Master Parade. This unique event focuses on the creativity, technical abilities, and innovation of 6 top international master stylists. Each hairstylist has selected a mega-trend to be interpreted according to the 6 identified in the Artbook “The Ultimate Collection” by Estetica: Blonde, Bob, Updo, Fringe, Volume, Geometric.
