Last night was an awesome gala at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino! ESTETICA attended the Spirit of Life Award Gala here at PBA’s 2015 Beauty Week in Las Vegas, along with hundreds of industry mavens from all around the country.
City of Hope’s National Professional Salon Industry honored Steve Goddard, Founder & CEO of Pravana, for his outstanding professional and philanthropic contributions. This year’s event, titled “Rock the Cure,” celebrated the hope of a cure for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The event, one of the industry’s best networking evenings, included a hosted cocktail reception, dinner and entertainment. Surrounded by his family, beauty industry pals and many friends, Goddard was really touched while accepting his award from dear friend Ann Mincey. Passionate about rock music, Goddard took his guitar and performed some songs while being joined by industry mavens Mincey & Sara Jones (Joico) as backing singers and Kevin Wachs (Colorphlex) on the drums. Superstar hairstylists Sam Villa, James Gartner and Sherri Jessee also took the stage to style some beautiful models while Steve and his band kept playing to the audience’s delight.
The extraordinary Spirit of Life Award Gala ended with a striking live show by the legendary Don Felder of The Eagles.
In 2004, 30-year beauty industry veteran Steve Goddard launched Pravana, a global salon professional hair care brand “created by stylists, for stylists.” Goddard has always had a passion for making a difference through philanthropy. Throughout his career, Goddard has consistently contributed time, financial support and service back to the community and to salon professionals. When founding Pravana, it was only natural that his altruistic commitments become a major initiative and core value for the brand. Pravana’s ongoing efforts to support City of Hope include a 5% donation of all Pravana Nevo product sales to City of Hope, a world-renowned biomedical research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Since the Nevo line’s inception in 2012, its sales have raised $213,334 for City of Hope.
“I wanted to create a brand that goes beyond personal beauty and extends to the beautification of our planet and well-being of the people on it,” says Goddard. “I’m proud to be involved with an organization as amazing and impactful as City of Hope, and I’m truly honored to be chosen to receive the Spirit of Life award.”
The Spirit of Life Award is always presented to an individuals who exemplifies the ideals and values that have guided City of Hope for a century, and whose professional and humanitarian accomplishments are worthy of celebration.
