Low Ponytail – 5 Ways to Wear One!

The low ponytail is always a bit underestimated. As it is thought to be easy to create, it is often relegated to an emergency solution for bad hair days. To dispel this unfair myth, here are 5 examples of styling that range from the very elegant to bedhead chic. They show how you can be creative and unique, even with such a simple style. Spoiler alert! The essential requirements are a least a bit of length and, of course, to have beautiful healthy and shiny hair . For an impeccable end result, it’s helpful to have the right products on hand to emphasise the shine or, if you prefer, to make the texture rougher and more stable.

Fringe or quiff combo

The SS2025 Jil Sander fashion show shows us that the low ponytail can become almost revolutionary if combined with a well-shaped fringe or quiff. In this case, gathering the hair at the back is the best way to make the two hair accessories stand out, while adding a touch of elegance.

Side parting

Hermès plays on the importance of the parting . To the more traditional version of the low ponytail with a side parting , it adds one that instead sees the parting distributed in three directions, like a triangle, which divides the locks into three sectors, gathered neatly at the nape of the neck.

Super natural texture

Lover of the natural, nude look can rest assured that 2025 will see a growing trend for a return to healthy, well-groomed locks. Zimmermann proposes a low ponytail that is beautiful in its simplicity. Well-groomed and shiny, hair is brought together in an elestic band with just a few strands escaping to frame the face.

Sculptured effect

Rabanne brings together all the ideas seen so far to create a low ponytail with a sculptural effect. A wet look combines with composed lengths, a deep side parting and clean allure. The result is a highly refined style that also plays on the contrast between textures: shiny and compact on the top, opaque and freestyle on the lengths.

With a Sixties’ bouffant

It’s a completely different vibe for N°21. They utilise the low ponytail to update a Sixties-inspired hairstyle. The texture is grungy and irregular, with loose locks in apparent disarray. The final result has an urban and nostalgic allure.
