This year’s annual KH Hair Awards paid tribute to the 20-strong East Midlands salon group’s top achievers in 2024. 200+ staff and VIP guests from Wella and ghd came together to celebrate their achievements and the group’s successes.

The much-anticipated KH Hair event took place on 9 June on the outdoor terrace at Binks Yard in Nottingham City Centre. There, group managing director, Darren Messias, began by acknowledging 13 top achievers for their long service to the company. Then saw 22 awards given in recognition of the past year’s top achievers.

Salon of the Year
Always the most coveted accolade of the night, ‘Salon of the Year,’ went jointly to the Group’s Nottingham and Arnold salons (above) for their excellent performances in customer service, turnover and retail sales. It wasn’t the only walk to the stage for the KH Hair Nottingham team who collected an impressive haul of six trophies including Salon Highest Turnover. “The Salon of the Year Award is testament to our team’s collective effort, dedication and support of each other,” commented Co-director, Debbie McMenamin, who runs the salon with husband Sean. “They are brilliant every day and we are so appreciative of every single one of them. They truly deserve this recognition and, of course, we are truly grateful to every client who has stepped through our door over the years. Thank you for choosing us and trusting us with your hair.”
Image of the Year
The KH Hair Arnold team were also frequent visitors to the winners’ podium as they picked up five more accolades including the hotly fought Image of the Year Award, which was judged by Jordanna Cobella, Colin McAndrew and Dom Capel.

Salon manager, Helen Stilwell was triumphant in the Individual Turnover category and newly qualified stylist, Amelia Krasinski, was named at this year’s Rising Star.

When all awards were safely collected and, despite the rain threatening to put a damper on the evening, guests were entertained by international touring beatboxers and world champions The Beatbox Collective. Following the show, guests were invited to eat, drink, be merry, and dance the night away to end a perfect evening of celebration and recognition.
“It was an honour to celebrate the achievements of the teams and individuals who work across KH Hair’s 20 salons,” said KH Hair Group MD Darren Messias. “They all deserve recognition because of the hard work, passion and commitment they show on a day-to-day basis. I am so proud they are part of the KH Hair family. The foundations of our business are based on creativity, consistency and fantastic customer service and I feel it’s only right to recognise and reward any individuals and teams who have excelled over the past twelve months. Many congratulations to all the winners and runners up.”
