R+Co is Now 100% VEGAN! The Brand commits to Ethical Beauty

With the last of the R+Co product family, Control Flexible Paste, reformulated vegan at the end of 2018, R+Co welcomes the New Year as a 100% vegan line—a move that aligns with co-founder Thom Priano’s perspective on ethical beauty.

Ten years ago I decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle; it changed my life!” Priano says. “Besides having many health benefits, this lifestyle made me aware of all the damage humans have done to our planet as well as the cruelty and torture that we subject to animals—I’ll never turn back. That’s why I’m proud that R+Co products are now vegan. We want to send a message to both the hairdressing community and greater world that you can have healthy, beautiful hair without testing, torturing and killing animals.

Though vegan formulated, all R+Co products retain the same performance and results that hairstylists have come to know and love. Undergoing the ultimate test-drive on editorial sets and backstage with R+Co co-founders, Thom Priano, Garren and Howard McLaren, each 100% vegan product stands up to the rigors of daily life—a must behind the chair.

For Priano, R+Co’s mission is now not only about experimentation through innovation, but also educating the industry and, in turn, meeting the demands of today’s consumer, who seeks cleaner, greener and more ethical beauty. “As a company, R+Co has a platform to create awareness—to prove through masterful formulation, performance and kindness, that there is a better way,” he says.
