Salon Live! The Sassoon International Creative Team unveils Poetica Collection

The Sassoon International Creative Team, led by Mark Hayes, unveiled their latest Academy collection POETICA at Salon Live | Salon International 2016.

The team presented the new collection through a series of informative cutting and colouring demonstrations and choreographed presentations to fully display the breadth of the newest ideas from the team.

This season, inspiration for the collection was drawn from global influences of the past and an imagined future to create a futuristic bricolage of East meets West. Chinese cheongsams, Japanese kimonos and Korean hanboks combine with modern sportswear and utility fashion for new tribes of techno nomads, offbeat courtesans and virtual vagabonds.

CUTTING TECHNIQUES
Close cropped androgyny, extravagant texture and techno bobs all feature and are all modern versions of the iconic Sassoon house codes of hair design. Disconnected elliptical sectioning patterns and concentric layering provide new ways to interpret these most classic of Sassoon cuts.

COLOURING TECHNIQUES
High-resolution colour in bold patterns distort across the surface of the deconstructed layers of the cuts in iridescent shades of sindooram, crimson, saffron, ebony, ecru and ivory.

PERMING TECHNIQUES
Pure, minimalist cuts are enhanced and exaggerated by dramatic new textures achieved with an intricately wound directional flow.
