The Blitz Collection channels underground club culture with sophisticated styling that merges West End elegance with East End rebellion.

Dean Lawton Taylor‘s latest collection draws inspiration from British culture’s most iconic era. Underground clubs created the breeding ground for revolutionary style during this transformative period. The Blitz Collection captures 80s club essence through eight striking monochrome images that showcase adventurous, refined hair styling. “I was inspired by the 80’s underground club scene – new wave, punk, and New Romantics. It’s West End posh girls heading clubbing to an East End club,” explains Dean Lawton Taylor from Trinder Hair Studios in St Albans.
Underground Rebellion Meets Sophisticated Technique
The collection embodies well-heeled girls venturing into forbidden territory whilst seeking excitement beyond comfortable boundaries. Each look demonstrates underground culture’s influence on mainstream fashion through hairstyles that balance edginess with technical precision. The monochrome presentation emphasises texture, shape, and movement whilst allowing the pure artistry to take centre stage. This approach highlights the gritty authenticity that made 80s club culture so enduringly influential.
Dean’s interpretation transcends simple nostalgia by creating looks that feel both historically aware and thoroughly contemporary. The emphasis on exceptional finish ensures even rebellious styles maintain the sophistication required for contemporary settings. This demonstrates how classic underground aesthetics can show refinement whilst retaining their original rebellious spirit.
