Here, she breaks down how to achieve one of her favourite vivid hair transformations and get your clients’ hair shining like the rainbow.
Pre-Lightening and Sectioning
To create the perfect blank canvas for the vibrant colour, Safy begins by pre-lightening the hair with a global bleach application, lifting it to a level 10. For controlled colour placement, she then takes a horseshoe section from temple to temple, extending to just below the crown at the back. This allows the top and sides to blend cohesively when styled.
Application: The Rainbow Effect
Working within the horseshoe section, Safy brings each sub-section forward and applies colour in rainbow panels. She alters which colour she starts with as she moves upward through the section. This maintains the rainbow effect at the roots. To create a uniform, high-impact finish, she ensures each colour panel is the same width. For cleanliness, and to prevent any colour bleeding, she overlays Pro Care cling film every fifth section.
Depth and Contrast
For all the hair beneath the horseshoe section, Safy uses Elumen PK@ALL blended into KK@ALL. This provides depth and a beautiful, grounding contrast that makes the rainbow tones above truly pop.
