Dresshair: A Fusion Between Hairdressing and Haute Couture: The New Artistic Collection by Carol Bruguera, Creating Haute Couture with Hair.

Carol Bruguera elevates the craft of hairdressing to a new level with an innovative artistic approach. Dresshair revolutionises the traditional concept of hair covering the head, envisioning a collection where hair dresses the body. Months of work produced this new collection; creativity and technical innovation created a futuristic and transgressive concept.

“The original idea was to create four dresses; we worked the hair with four very different techniques and used a maximum of 10% yarn or other elements,” explains Mia Carol, CEO of Carol Bruguera. “However, when we started experimenting, we realised that we preferred the new techniques to the old. In the end, we had a collection of six dresses; we felt we could have expanded it infinitely.”
Dresshair comes to life

Two dancers brought the resulting six ‘Dresshair’ creations to life; they are a breathtaking display of artistry. Each piece showcases innovative techniques; a fusion of hair with minimal non-hair materials to define them. From the ‘White Swan’ dress, with its delicate hair feathers and lacquered bases, to the ‘Royal Cut’ dress, featuring transparent hair sheets and intricate patterns, the collection demonstrates remarkable versatility. The ‘Tortoiseshell’ dress highlights woven strands in varied tones; the ‘Cabaret’ dress uses hair strips and a braided neckline, evoking 1920s glamour. The ‘Macramé’ dress employs loom weaving for structured forms; the ‘Trenesis’ dress combines braids and cords for dynamic, ethnic-inspired movement, complete with a striking mask.
