Debbie G, renowned hair educator, partners with Schwarzkopf Professional’s Shaping Futures programme in the Philippines, bringing her signature style and expertise. She will host a Sassoon Seminar on March 31st at 6:30 pm at the Sassoon Academy on Greek Street to raise funds for this transformative initiative, now celebrating its 15th year. This inspiring evening promises creative insights and educational value as Debbie showcases her favourite looks in an intimate, up-close setting.
Empowering Through Hairdressing
Shaping Futures transforms lives through the power of hairdressing, providing skills and opportunities. World-class educators like Debbie deliver inspirational training, empowering socially challenged young adults to break the cycle of disadvantage and build independent futures. From May 2nd to 17th, 2025, Debbie travels to the Philippines to shape the futures of young people at the SOS Children’s Village. “I’m thrilled to return to my roots at the Sassoon Academy on Greek Street,” Debbie shares. “This amazing event will raise money for an incredible charity, literally changing lives. Shaping Futures equips individuals with the tools to earn a living, escape poverty, support their families, and find new purpose.”
A Partnership for Change
The SOS Children’s Villages in the Philippines, an international, non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-denominational organisation, provides holistic care for children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. Kay Brady, head of education and events for Schwarzkopf Professional, expresses her excitement about Debbie G’s support. “Bringing such skilled hairdressing to these learners is a dream come true,” she says. “This programme is vital, and over fifteen years, we’ve helped hundreds of young people achieve their dreams. We are immensely proud of everyone involved, especially the inspiring young people who fight for their futures.” Debbie will teach classic cutting and styling techniques for two weeks as part of a six-week Shaping Futures programme.
