Organized by bwnet.hu, the Budapest Hair Show was held for the fifth time in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, on September 28th, 2024.
Alongside Hungarian star hairdressers, international experts also attended: guests had the opportunity to learn and gain inspiration from 25 presenters, while over 200 hairdressers worked backstage to create unforgettable moments on stage at the Budapest Hair Show 2024. Estetica Magazine was present at the show and we witnessed historic moments once again, as the TONI&GUY team arrived in Hungary for the first time, led by International Artistic Director Efi Davies, with the participation of Technical Artistic Director Stuart Matuska!
Budapest Hair Show turns 5 this year
The Budapest Hair Show celebrated its 5th anniversary this year, as it has been supporting the development of Hungarian hairdressers since 2019, providing inspiration and enhancing the prestige of the profession in a brand-neutral way. Since 2023, the event has become a full-day celebration of the hairdressing and barbering industry, and this year, for the first time, it opened its doors to the general public!
The stage was filled with exclusive seminars, masterclasses, look & learn seminars, and spectacular shows, while in the exhibition area, attendees could explore the newest products and services at over 20 brand stands.
The event was opened by Szabolcs Győri, CEO of bwnet.hu and creative director of the Budapest Hair Show. He reflected: “This year, we held one of Europe’s leading independent hairdressing events, the Budapest Hair Show, for the 5th time, and it truly belongs to the entire Hungarian hairdressing community! I am incredibly grateful and proud that we have created such a wonderful and world-class event in Budapest, in the heart of Europe, as a community, inspiring each other!“

Together. In one place. Honoring the profession. The Budapest Hair Show was once a long-cherished dream for Beauty World Net, which came true in 2019, and has since been a resounding success among fans of the hairdressing industry. This year, we welcomed our guests to a new venue, the Eiffel Art Studios in Budapest, with more exhibitors, more spectacular workshops, and a monumental show prepared for them.
More than 900 guests attended the event, taking part in the TONI&GUY seminar, masterclasses, and evening main-stage look&learns, followed by a huge night show. Meanwhile, over 200 professionals worked backstage to bring the dreamed-up productions to life on stage.
Exclusive TONI&GUY seminar in Budapest
The TONI&GUY team is globally renowned for their expertise and creativity in hairdressing and styling, shaping global fashion. Through innovative styles and the application of cutting-edge techniques, they inspire both professionals and clients alike.
Led by International Artistic Director Efi Davies and with the help of Technical Artistic Director Stuart Matuska, the TONI&GUY team visited Hungary for the first time, inspiring industry professionals in a 90-minute seminar. They showcased the latest techniques, sectioning patterns, and color shades from their UNFOLD collection, allowing participants to learn step-by-step how to recreate both the cuts and colors themselves.
Budapest Hair Show 2024 – Masterclasses
L’Oréal Professionnel Masterclass: The Symbiosis of Balayage Techniques and Haircuts – László Hajas, Zsolt Kucsera, Tamás Zsidró, and Gergő Dalotti.
The L’Oréal Professionnel education and ambassador team presented the latest hair coloring techniques, including new possibilities with balayage and related haircuts and innovations during their 120-minute masterclass. The smallest details of creating the hair colors on models were explained, along with solutions tailored to salons and clients alike.
At the L’Oréal Professionnel masterclass, the ambassador team’s three legendary members –László Hajas, Zsolt Kucsera, and Tamás Zsidró– were honored on their 20th anniversary by Judit Rátonyi, Hungarian Sales Director of L’Oréal’s Hairdressing Division.
World of Barbers Masterclass: AROD, Barber Birdman, Herbert Czinki, and Gergő Földi
The World of Barbers Masterclass, led by the internationally acclaimed barber AROD and WAHL international educator Barber Birdman, was enhanced by Hungarian experts Herbert Czinki and Gergő Földi. The barbers presented sensational tricks and techniques, inspiring their audience while introducing them to the latest trends.

WAHL – Barber Birdman Look & Learn seminar
Barber Birdman, a WAHL official educator with extensive experience in barbering, shared his passion and knowledge. His expertise, combined with Wahl’s professional products, helped hairdressers and barbers master the latest techniques, while emphasizing the classic art of barbering.
AROD Look & Learn seminar
One of the most colorful personalities of the Budapest Hair Show, Alberto Rodriguez – AROD, co-founder of the L3vel3 brand and social media star with over 2 million followers, made his first appearance in Hungary. The nearly 20-year veteran of the profession not only focused on hair cutting but also emphasized the business side of barbering, with special attention to content creation.
TONI&GUY Look & Learn seminar
The globally recognized TONI&GUY team showcased hairstyles from their latest UNFOLD collection, prepared for London Fashion Week, with a focus on innovative textures and looks. The collection was created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the TONI&GUY brand, symbolizing their journey while staying true to today’s trends.
Budapest Hair Show 2024 – SHOWTIME
AROD
AROD, one of the most prominent barbers globally, made his debut in Hungary, showcasing why he is so well-known. He performed a song created especially for the Budapest Hair Show while presenting his models’ extravagant hairstyles, which literally set the stage on fire.
Talent of the Year – Tamás Czafik
The “Talent of the Year” title was established in 2021 by Budapest Hair Show creative director Szabolcs Győri, aiming to give talented and dedicated young professionals a platform to showcase their work at the most prestigious hairdressing event of the year. This year, the honor went to Tamás Czafik, who wowed the audience with a wide range of hairstyles, from everyday looks to artistic creations.

The show’s choreographers artistically combined the models from the seminar and Look & Learn sessions, bringing the UNFOLD collection to life on stage in Budapest, directly after London Fashion Week, making it one of the most memorable moments of the Budapest Hair Show.
Barber Birdman – WAHL
Barber Birdman, a Dutch-born barber and WAHL official educator, impressed the audience by combining soccer and hair trends for the evening show, using practical tools and techniques. Being a huge football fan, Birdman wanted to merge his two passions into a unique concept for the Hungarian audience.
L’Oréal Professionnel
Transformation and metamorphosis were the themes of the L’Oréal Professionnel show, with choreography directly from Paris. Spectacular hair transformations using diverse cutting and styling techniques were showcased by the brand’s ambassador team, including László Hajas, Tamás Zsidró, Zsolt Kucsera, Attila Dudás, and Erika Dancsó.
Rudy Mostarda – Alfaparf Milano Professional
The final show before the grand finale was presented by returning guest Rudy Mostarda. The Italian virtuoso once again created an electrifying atmosphere on stage with his extravagant hairstyle variations, outfits, and dancers!
