Kevin Boon from Belgium is the winner of the International Barber Awards 2017. He recently won the title of the best barber in the world in an exciting, full-day live competition at the HAAR hairdressing trade fair in Nuremberg.
This was the competition for which the who’s who of the international barber scene gathered to see 21 top barbers from 14 nations battle it out for the coveted title. The candidates impressed with what is now highly popular among men of all age classes: a perfect hair or beard cut, as well as an excellent shave, packed into a proper wellness sensation. The second place went to Felix Heck from Germany and the third to Juergen Niederl from Austria.
Hundreds of entrants from all over the world had originally applied through online registration, resulting in some 60 candidates taking part in the preliminaries in the form of live competitions held throughout Europe. Ultimately, Kevin Boon prevailed against very strong international competition: “I’m just overwhelmed and grateful, and I can not believe it. I am so delighted – it was a gigantic experience,” commented Kevin afterwards.
“With the International Barber Awards, we are setting a new milestone in the barber scene,” added Micha Birkhofer, organiser of the event and Managing Director of 1o1 Barbers. “This will include the entire range of the barber’s craft of the international top elite, characterized by the most diverse techniques and influences from around the world.“
