Record attendance for Hair On Stage, the historic annual appointment created by Davines. Two days of training, inspiration, awards and 2016 education project previews that brought over 800 hairdressers from all over Italy to the beautiful city of Bologna.
The event opened on Sunday, October 2nd in the prestigious Teatro Manzoni, right in the historic city centre, with a welcome address by Lamberto Bisognin, Director of Davines Hair Care Italy, and with the reading of the Sustainable Beauty Manifesto, the historical source of Davines’ sustainability identity that continues to inspire company projects aimed at promoting beauty in harmony with humanity and the environment.
First up on stage was the Allilon team, Johnny Othona and Pedro Inchenko, together with their London team, who distinguished themselves with the innovative creativity of their new collection, “Change”, in a surprising colour palette. Allilon, Davines’ partner in this longstanding event, offers a wide range of training courses at their Academy in London, where the brand is headquartered.
Rousing the enthusiasm of the audience was the exhibition by the six Italian finalists of the World Style Contest, challenging each other’s passion and talent on stage to win a place on the next WWHT. The technical jury, made up of selected hairstylists, journalists and fashion experts, closely followed the looks as they were created, proclaiming the following winners: Alessandra Pucci won a double award for Best Stylist & Best Cut; Andrea Gennaro won Best Color, as well as the Social Award, voted directly on facebook by salon clients and the Davines community.
There were also plenty of occasions for information on, and previews of, future sustainability projects that the company is rolling out on the road to becoming a certified B Corporation. Davide Bollati, chairman of Davines, took to the stage to present the I Sustain Beauty campaign. Now in its second edition, the campaign aims to unite beautiful projects in the artistic, social and environmental fields, aiming to make the world a more beautiful place through direct action by people in the world community, brought together for all to see at www.isustainbeauty.com
For the first time on stage was stylist and top trainer, Jesus Oliver, for whom creativity and innate taste are the ingredients of his Stylosophy Method, which takes British technical rigour and simplifies it for the salon. This is the début for this exclusive collaboration at the most important national platform of the year.
Closing the event was Davines’ Artistic Director, Angelo Seminara. During his hour on the stage, part show, part educational talk, he moved and enriched the audience with his extensive experience, sharing his passion and his philosophy. Presented on stage was an eclectic mix of cuts, colours and cutting-edge styling. Ending the evening was the traditional Get Together Dinner & Party, held at the exclusive Palazzo Re Enzo, where everybody enjoyed a great time in full Davines style, followed by the “Good Vibes”-themed party.
First on stage the next day was Gianluca Sasso, founder and Artistic Director of Academy F and creator of the Fusion Cutting Methodology, fruit of great dedication, technical preparation, and professional training. Next was Sergio Laurenzi, stylist and creative talent, who introduced his collection, a personal homage to the women who become, on the stage, true style icons.
Last up on stage and bringing the two intense days to a close was Angelo Seminara. Davines’ Artistic Director presented the brand’s latest collection “Rebel”, with its audacious yet feminine woman, and full-on urban look. Leaving the stage to the applause of the audience was the customary closing runway show.
