Taking a hard line on a graphic theme doesn’t have to look too edgy as this feminine interpretation proves.
Shaped to the head and cropped tight to the neck, the cut boldly showcases the power of less is more, while its rounded, brow-skimming fringe nods to Sixties cool with a sleek, sharp finish. Break up the lines for a more bohemian vibe, or tousle up with fresh texture and loads of movement.
To get a short style bold and strong, keep it simple – using a darker ash matt tone as an all-over base and adding another dimension with a pre-lightened, ash-toned panel of lighter color over the top. The effect complements the boyish shape yet adds a new interesting dimension. Styling straight turns up the impact while adding texture blends the color effect through the whole look.

Step 1 – Create an asymmetric section from ear to ear, ending just behind the right ear and one inch behind the left ear. Trace a triangular section at the crown Step 2 – Start working diagonally from mid-centre at back. Work gradually towards front as you square cut Step 3 – Taper the outside edge with scissors-over-comb technique and join this to the top section Step 4 – On right, comb hair into natural fall; trim diagonally above the ear. Move down, section by section, joining all the lengths to the base Step 5 – On left, comb hair into natural fall, then cut diagonally, scissors-over-comb Step 6 – Trim the fringe in a slightly asymmetric line to connect the two sides Step 7 – Release the back section and create texture with point-cutting Step 8 – Trace a triangular section just below the crown towards the back of the head. Pin all the sections around this to stop colour touching other areas Step 9 – Mix Indola Rapid Blond blue dust-free powder bleach with 9% Profession Creme Developer Peroxide. Apply the mixture, using foils, to the triangular section Step 10 – Mix hair colour PCC 4.19 Medium Brown Ash Matt with 2% Profession Creme Developer Peroxide. Apply to rest of hair. Leave to develop for 30-45 minutes Rinse darker shade out first, to avoid contaminating the bleached sections. Then rinse bleached hair. Mix hair shade PCC 9.11 Very Light Blonde Intense Ash with 2% Profession Creme Developer Peroxide. Leave until getting a cool steel grey shade
