Emmy Awards 2024 –  Favourite Hair Looks

The Emmy Awards 2024 honour the best in American prime time television programming by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This year’s ceremony took place on September 7 and 8 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California.

We ask some top UK hairstylists with keen a eye for red carpet glamour to choose their favourite look from the Emmy Awards 2024:

Nicola Coughlan

“I think this is a beautiful red carpet look. I love Nicola’s bright blonde hair styled into this sleek, smooth half-up half-down look. The centre parting and jewelled clips create an elegant yet modern style. The polished finish complements the glamorous sequinned gown and showcases Nicola’s features and jewellery. It’s a timeless, camera-ready style that balances sophistication with her natural beauty.” Ashley Gamble, Owner of Ashley Gamble Hair

“This was my favourite look of the night from the Emmy‘s. This is a chic and modern take on a classic bob. This textured, slightly tousled lob is perfect for Kristen. There’s a subtle balayage effect, transitioning from darker roots to lighter, sun-kissed ends, which adds depth and dimension. The side-swept part and effortless waves create a soft, feminine look that frames her face beautifully. This versatile cut is perfect for a red carpet event as it showcases Kristen’s ensemble.” Suzie McGill, International Artistic Director Rainbow Room International

Ayo Edebiri

“I thought this look was a stunning showcase of natural texture and volume. Ayo is practically glowing! Her long, luscious curls beautifully cascade down past her shoulders. Lots of celebs sported a centre parting on the Emmy’s carpet and I honestly think you can’t go wrong with it. Her stylist has done an excellent job of defining and enhancing the natural curl pattern, resulting in glossy, bouncy curls with minimal frizz. This look is glamorous yet effortless – totally fantastic.” Brian ‘Leo’ McCallum, Owner of ROAR Hair & Beauty

“Rita Ora’s Emmy look encapsulates old Hollywood glamour, echoing the essence of 1930s actresses. Her updo featured a classic French twist (a style which has blown up on social media this past month) and a gorgeous volumised fringe that was set into elegant waves. To add depth and dimension to this look, a golden balayage was used to beautifully compliment Rita’s natural hair colour. Her lightened eyebrows harmonise this look which commands attention on the red carpet – showstopping!” Safy Burton, Owner of Safy B’s Hair Salon

Naomi Watts

“We’ve being seeing the ‘French Bob’ popping up all over social media and on the Emmy’s red carpet, Naomi Watts elegantly executed it. This sophisticated cut beautifully compliments Naomi’s oval face shape, whilst accentuating her feature simultaneously.

“The side-parting highlights to the width of her cheekbones and the flipped in ends adds fullness to areas where her face is naturally slenderer, especially at the jawline. This also adds movement, whilst hugging her face shape beautifully. This look captures the essence of true glamour!” Tracey-Ann Smith, Owner of French & Ivi

“As we move into the autumnal months, we’ll be seeing a lot more of the ‘chocolate box’ hair trend. These hues are at the top of our trend forecast for A/W24 – think expensive-looking, rich, deep chocolatey tones. These shades are completely customisable to the individual – being easily being lightened to create a creamy chocolate hue or darkened to create a deep glossy tone.

“On the Emmy’s Red Carpet, Mindy Kayling showcased a beautiful dark chocolate glossy colour which turned heads for it’s soft, expensive feel. Mindy’s hair was styled in glamourous long waves which fell elegantly in a chic middle parting and tucked behind her ears”. Kirsty Judge, Creative Colour Genius at RUSH Hair & Beauty
