Colour Crush – This Summer’s Hottest Trend!

Colour Crush

Wella Professionals icons James Earnshaw and Jordanna Cobella have collaborated for the first time and joined forces with Pantone Color Institute to develop The Colour Crush Collection. This is set to be this summer’s hottest colour trend.

The looks feature the Wella Professionals’ rich colour portfolio and a carefully curated palette of shades from its iconic ranges – Koleston Perfect, Color Touch, Shinefinity and Illumina Color. The Colour Crush trend is a contemporary take on the iconic colour blocking trend that has dominated in 2024.

Inspired by hues from nature, interior design, and make up, the collection features warm shades that signals a shift from cool ash tones that we’ve seen in recent years. “The glacial era is over, says Jordanna. “Following years of ash and cool shades dominating the hair colour trends, warmer and more comforting tones will make a return into hair colour”.

The result is two key trends: Peach Blush and Strawberry Glaze. Colours have an earth-like character, with tones celebrating desert landscapes, the sky, and the fruits and flowers of the season, in combination with the ‘natural’ colours of hair. Expect flashes of terracotta tones from interior design, teamed with warm browns or natural textures. Finally, the collection takes inspiration from strawberry girl make-up and an emphasis on strawberry-toned flushed cheeks. The collection encompasses 7 key looks that include techniques. These deliver inspiration for any colourist to develop their creative flair. They are also the perfect tools for growing any colour business. The array of techniques ranges from face framing concepts to colour blocking panels, all utilising the Wella colour portfolio.

The Colour Crush looks are:

  • Lilac Spirit – a fresh floral hue combined with a luminous peach.
  • Rose Dusk – a velvety pink which comes alive when paired with a deep, alluring burgundy.
  • Vivid Amber – glows with an intense, golden warmth and teamed with a richly pigmented red-hued brown.
  • Pink Pearl – a delicate, natural creamy hue teamed with a rich deep brown.
  • Dulce de Leche – a smooth and creamy caramel shade, set against a complex midnight black.
  • Barley Gold – a delicate sun-baked golden blonde fused with a nutty and rich brown.
  • Sunset Blaze – autumnal fiery oranges, set against a tranquil tinted blonde.
