The He(ART) of Hair
Wella Company’s Trendvision Beauty Envision Awards attendees hit the jackpot at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada by enjoying an inspiring competition and show. At The He(ART) of Hair, top hair and nail artists from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico shared their finished photographed looks to a sold out audience filled with salon professionals, media and influencers.
The event began with a welcome and industry overview from Wella Company executives. Yannis Rodocanachi, President for the Americas, talked about the brand’s commitment to salon professionals at every stage of their careers and how the Wella Company invests in the beauty world through its products and people. “Stylists are the heart and soul of Wella Company,” says Rodocanachi. “We are committed to being their partners by enabling stylists to be the best at their craft through a harmonious fusion of artistry, science, and creativity.”
Industry trends were the focus of a presentation by Lori Pantel, NA VP & Chief Marketing Officer, who discussed several of the directions shaping the beauty industry. These included “Radical Acceptance” (acceptance and diversity), “Empowered Individuality” (personalization), “ReGen Beauty” (sustainability) and “Wellness Unleashed” (wellness).
Carole Protat, Senior Director Brand Education, Artists & Events, kicked off the show segment featuring Wella NA Ambassadors, Global Artists and Sebastian Global Artists who cut and styled models live on stage after video recorded dramatic hair color transformations. Presenters included Sonya Dove and Daniel Mora who offered their tips on creating Modern Brunettes and Reds, Zach Mesquit and Dereq Clark who demonstrated “Ultimate Blondes”, James Earnshaw and Briana Cisneros who covered “Creative Color”, all while Anthony Cole and Marylle Koken transformed their models with cut and style.
The evening culminated with the announcement of the winners of the Beauty Envision Awards. The 39 finalists had been selected from thousands of submissions. Categories (and subcategories) included Cut, Color, Style and Nails. Artists created finishes inspired by the “Neo Flex’‘ theme, challenging them to create looks that offered flexibility and strength within a soft finish.
