Introducing the Oribe Serene Scalp Oil Control Collection

Oribe Hair Care announces its Serene Scalp Oil Control Collection, developed to extend time between washes by reducing excess oil and sebum on those with oily scalps.

Those with oily scalps know the drill: Wash as often as you can, and learn to live with lank, lackluster hair. Now, thanks to Oribe’s new Serene Scalp Oil Control Collection, you can finally hit pause between washes. Designed as a complete regimen to help reduce excess oil and sebum, the trio of targeted products leaves the scalp and hair looking and feeling clean and weightless for longer than ever before.

Focus on rebalancing the scalp microbiome

In addition to absorbing and reducing oil on both the scalp and hair, the Serene Scalp Oil Control Collection actually works to rebalance the scalp’s delicate microbiome. The microbiome is the essential ecosystem of bacteria — both good and bad — found on every scalp’s surface. Like any ecosystem, a healthy balance is essential.

An out-of-balance microbiome on the scalp can result in a variety of problems. These include an overproduction of sebum and oil,” says Michele Burgess, Executive Director of Product Development for Oribe Hair Care. “Maintaining a balanced scalp microbiome — one with a diverse mix of microorganisms — is vital to optimal hair health. The new Serene Scalp Oil Control Collection includes Green Marine Algae and Mango Leaf Extract. Both of these ingredients to help diversify and maintain that balance.

For a consumer-panel test, 101As a consumer-panel test showed, the results are impressive. 90% of panelists who used the Serene Scalp Oil Control Shampoo and Treatment Mist at least three times in 10 days perceived a noticeable reduction in oiliness on the hair and scalp. Even more, 91% of the panelists felt their scalp was less oily for 72 hours after use. After just one use of the products, 90% of panelists felt their hair was cleaner at the roots.

Three targeted products

The collection is comprised of the Serene Scalp Oil Control Shampoo, Serene Scalp Oil Control Treatment Mist, and Serene Scalp Oil Control Dry Shampoo Powder. Biomimetic Amino Acid is a key ingredient in all three products, essential in the microflora of a healthy scalp. Also essential is the Biome Balancing Complex (Rosebay Extract and Green Marine Algae), developed to naturally regulate and rebalance the scalp’s biome. The result? By reducing excess sebum, it means going longer between washes.

The collection also features the Oribe Signature Complex (Watermelon, Lychee and Edelweiss Flower) to defend hair from oxidative stress, photoaging and the deterioration of natural keratin. It also protects hair from the drying, damaging and color-depleting effects of the elements.
