The Eve Appeal – SAKS Smashes Through the £200k Mark!

Saks is very happy to announce that, since its post-lockdown return to fundraising, its hair and beauty teams and customers have now raised £200,000 for The Eve Appeal.

The Eve Appeal

The SAKS national charity partner – The Eve Appeal – raises awareness and funds for life-saving research into the five gynaecological cancers of the cervix, ovaries, womb, vagina and vulva. And Saks has pledged to raise £250k to help team-Eve invest in research, increase public awareness and influence public policy and clinical practice around prevention.

BIG CHALLENGES

During 2022 – along with getting back to the business of hair and beauty – the salon teams embraced an array of outdoor activities including a Wing Walk at 140 mph (Saks Ripon and Skipton), a gruelling 12k Total Warrior obstacle run (Sedbury Hall) and fielding a team to join The Eve Appeal’s Walk To Remember, trekking 26 miles along Hadrian’s Wall (Guisborough and HQ).

AND CLOSER TO HOME

In-and-around salon activities included a big quiz night (Kings Hill) and a health club spin cycle challenge (Ashton). Barnard Castle also opened the salon on a Sunday with appointments for donations on Mother’s Day. And a big mention goes out to Newark salon owner Zoe Chamberlain. She asked for donations instead of wedding presents to ensure they reached milestone to kickstart 2023.

The Eve Appeal

This year sees a continued pushing of boundaries – with newer team members getting encouragement to think up their challenges. There is also a refocus on in-salon events with customers joining in.

CEO Athena Lamnisos says: “The most heartfelt thanks to Saks for their incredible support for The Eve Appeal. How amazing to reach £200,000 in total through their fantastic fundraising efforts. We are constantly blown away by the passion, enthusiasm and fun they bring to supporting our charity.”

Janet King, head of marketing at Saks adds: “Huge thanks to every Saks4Eve supporter. They’ve all helped us get to this point. We’ve got our eyes on raising our next £50k to coincide with Saks’ 50th celebrations in 2024. We’re super-proud to be doing our bit. Please get in touch with your Saks salon to see what they’re up to next and let’s help to make change.”
