Davines, sustainable, professional hair care brand with an international presence in more than 90 countries will open their own Davines House & Academy in January 2023, based in King’s Cross, Central London.
With a square footage of over 4,600, the design for the Davines House & Academy came from interior designer Melody Weir. This was the same designer who launched the designs for Davines Group House & Academy Williamsburg, Brooklyn – New York.
Davines launched in the UK over 15 years ago. It has partnered with Ena Salon in London to train thousands of hairdressers across a diverse menu of educational courses. Over the past few years, the brand has grown tremendously. There is now a need for a bigger training facility. This is so it can host even more training courses and workshops to spread its message even further.
“Globally we see the UK professional hairdressing market as strategically important,” commented Global General Manager and Director of Davines, Mark Giannandrea. “This is because of the quality of the hairdressing in the UK and how the rest of the world look to British hairdressing for trends, quality and creativity.”
General Manager of Davines UK & Ireland, Matt Martin added: “Community is at the heart of who we are as Davines. Tthe building of our new House and Academy in London creates a home for our people and our partners. It is a space that brings to life the purpose and culture of our company. It’s design will have a positive impact for all that visit us. The location of our House was key, being in the heart of the city. This enables us to welcome customers from all over the UK and Republic of Ireland. Our purpose-built Academy will enable us to train more hairdressers than ever before. It will work alongside our portfolio of courses available through our regional academy partners. We’re incredibly excited to be opening our home and start writing the next chapter for Davines. “
Aesthetically, the space stands out from the crowd. There are over 30,000 individual plants across the site, with several hundred different species. Alongside nature throughout, all timber within the space are made from recyclable materials, cushion covers made from reused plastic bottles and curtains used are made from sustainably sourced fabrics. Finally, an intelligent daylighting system has been installed which automatically adjusts light levels based on the external conditions, promoting each employee’s wellbeing.
From January 2023, Davines will open its doors to their brand-new space in Kings Cross, with many opportunities available for the professional hairdressing industry to partake in courses ranging from colour to collections.
