Two thousand professionals from 30 different countries came to Madrid for the 4th International Hairdressing Awards. They were held at the Marriott Auditorium Hotel on May 16th, also with a live broadcast online.
The 4th International Hairdressing Awards evening also included a catwalk show featuring top hairdressing teams in the world. They presented their collections alongside the glamorous awards ceremony. Hair icon, Robert Lobetta, received the International Hair Legend 2022 Honorary Award. The International Hair Influencer of the Year Award went to USA-based Turkish hairdresser, Mustafa Avci, for his reach and positive impact on social media.


All the winners had already been announced during the International Hairdressing Awards world tour in March. Mikel Luzea, director and founder, and Sergi Bancells, global ambassador for the awards made the reveal in person during the tour.


Spanish hairdressers Marcos and David Siero were winners of the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection category. The Best International Women’s Commercial Collection went to South African hairdresser Candice McKay. In the Best International Avant-Garde Collection category, the winner was the UK-based hairdresser Sylvestre Finold. The Spanish team X-presion won the award International Artistic Team of the Year for the third year in a row and, finally, the UK’s Cos Sakkas won the top prize, International Hairdresser of the Year.





Creative excellence
The awards ceremony was accompanied by a catwalk presentation by some of the most outstanding hairdressing teams in the world: Trevor Sorbie Art Team (UK), Toni&Guy (UK), Pierre Ginsburg (France), Danilo Giangreco (Italy), as well as the Spanish teams, X -presion and No Name. In addition, some of the icons of international hairdressing, such as Tony Rizzo, Anthony Mascolo or Errol Douglas, attended as VIP guests.


The fourth year
For the fourth year of the awards, participation also reached significant numbers: almost 500 collections from 38 different countries entered their photographic work in the five categories. In addition, two hairdressers chosen by the organising committee received the honorary awards: International Hair Legend of the Year and International Hair Influencer of the Year.
