Tim Scott-Wright at the Hair Surgery is partnering with a local florist to install floral installations as door decorations at its Stourbridge salon. They mark the start of each new season with a strong visual statement of natural beauty. They also help to build community bonds.
Owner Tim Scott-Wright at The Hair Surgery is always looking to forge connections with other like-minded local businesses. He enlisted the talents of a local florist, Floral Secrets. He captured the popular door decorating trend as floral installations in April 2021. This was just after hair salons reopened following the third national lockdown.
“At the time, we had just been allowed to welcome clients back and I also wanted to mark the occasion,” explains Tim. “A spring themed floral installation across our salon entrance seemed like the perfect way to ring in the new season and signal a fresh start for our business after a really challenging year. Our clients’ love the installations too and they look forward to seeing what we have created for them.”
Growing local relationships
Not only do the seasonal installations look pretty, there is bigger reason behind the partnership that Tim feels is really important as a local business owner. “We’re community salon and growing local relationships is really key for us,” adds Tim. “During lockdown there was a great sense of solidarity amongst the business community here in Stourbridge. I am committed to keeping that momentum going as part of our business ethos.”
The floral decorations also serve as a great publicity tool too. They make a real statement and help attract new clients by showcasing the salons creativity and commitment to the community. Floral Secrets updates the door decoration at The Hair Surgery at the start of each new season. Owner, Jo Mountford said: “Working with Tim is a brilliant opportunity for a small business like mine. It’s something I love doing. After supplying Tim with some inspirational ideas, he leaves it to me to put my own creativity into each design. From a florists’ perspective this is fantastic.”
