2022 International Hairdressing Awards Winners

The 2022 International Hairdressing Awards winners announcements took place during the world tour from 21st – 30th March.

The winners in the five categories of the 2022 International Hairdressing Awards (IHAs) found out in a surprise reveal by Mikel Luzea, director and founder, and Sergi Bancells, global ambassador of the awards.

They have been travelling around the world together with their production team to personally announce the names of the award winners. The footage recorded during the world tour will form a TV docu-reality. The announcements were also streamed live via Instagram.

The 2022 winners

The winner in the Best International Men’s Commercial Collection is Siëro (Spain). The award in Best International Women’s Commercial Collection goes to South African hairdresser, Candice McKay. The Best International Avant-Garde Collection award winner is French, London based, Sylvestre Finold. The winner of International Artistic Team of the Year is Spanish group X-presion for third consecutive year. Last but not least, the British hairdresser Cos Sakkas scoops the big one: International Hairdresser of the Year. The jury consisted of five renowned hairdressers: Richard Thompson, Gun-Britt Zeller, Sophia Hilton, Paul Gehring and Marcel Montlleó.

Robert Lobetta also receives recognition with the International Hair Legend of the Year award; being the fourth hairdresser to receive it. The International Hair Influencer of the Year award recognises positive influence and impact in the industry and beyond. This year it goes to Mustafa Avci, born in Turkey and based in New York City (USA). He is famous for his one-of-a-kind award-winning styling and chic hair artistry; also for his inspiring, educational tutorials in social media activity.

The seven winners will receive an invitation to attend the awards ceremony Madrid, on May 16th. Here, the IHAs evening will showcase a runway show by some of the top hairdressing teams from around the world. There will, of course also, be the ceremony during which the seven winners will receive their awards.
