The Hair Surgery in Stourbridge is celebrating its 8th anniversary after opening its doors in February 2014. Owner, Tim Scott-Wright is thanking the local community for its continued support; particularly throughout the pandemic, which has ensured the salon’s continued success.
Tim is one of the UK’s leading names in hairdressing, recognised with a host of industry awards and accolades. With almost 30 years’ experience, Tim Scott-Wright has won the coveted title of Midlands Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards three times, placing him as one of the youngest hairdressers in the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame.
In 2014 Tim opened The Hair Surgery in Wollaston, bringing his wealth of hair knowledge to the area and recruiting a team of talented local stylists.
Tim said, “It was always a goal of mine to own my own salon and eight years later we are still going strong. I firmly believe that hair salons are hubs of the community and provide much more than a simple haircut. The Hair Surgery is a place for people to stay connected to their community and to feel good about themselves.”
Tim says that his salon’s success wouldn’t be possible without the support of his clients and local community. Some of the salon’s clients have had their hair done by Tim for more than 25 years. One loyal client is Gill Carr, who sees Tim every Friday without fail. After Gill’s husband passed away, her Friday hair appointment became even more important.
Gill said, “During lockdown I actually felt bereft and a bit lost when I couldn’t go to the salon, and it had quite a profound effect on me. Tim calls me the hostess because I don’t just get my hair done, I’d have a coffee or a sandwich and chat to a few people! The salon is so much part of my life. I’m very grateful to Tim and his team.”
