When refitting their salon during lockdown, Inanch and Joe Emir had more than just a slick new look in mind; the introduction of a pioneering new beauty space also allowed for their two daughters to step into the business and pave the way for a family-focussed future.
After 16 years as one of London’s most acclaimed salons, the pandemic provided Inanch and Joe with time to take a step back and consider their next steps. Mindful of their clients’ increasing desire for multiple services under one roof, as well as their daughters’ complementary skillsets, the family made the decision to create a premium new dedicated space for beauty and aesthetics – all under the Inanch salon name.
“Supporting our family’s ambitions was just as important for us as succession planning,” explains Joe. “Our oldest daughter, Demi, has a burgeoning beauty career. This dovetailed perfectly with our desire to expand the salon and provide a one-stop destination for our clients. Our younger daughter, Lema, is also training to become a non-surgical cosmetic practitioner. This will further allow us to expand our service offering when she qualifies in the New Year.”
Celebrity Choice for Cuts, Colours & Extensions
Inanch has an established reputation as hair loss experts. It is also a celebrity choice for luxurious cuts, colours and extensions. The couple had long planned to create a dedicated hair and scalp lab on the salon’s lower ground floor; this would be to offer these discrete services in a premium, private space.
Lockdown proved the perfect time to put the plan into action. It also sparked the decision to transform the remaining empty downstairs room into a cutting-edge beauty lab for their daughters.
Here, clients are now able to enjoy a full suite of service. These include the exclusive Collagenwave treatment, as Inanch becomes London’s first and only provider of the acclaimed non-surgical facelift. One of the UK’s most sought after facials, the Collagenwave treatment uses radio frequency energy to tighten skin tissue. With no downtime, it’s the perfect non-surgical solution for those with busy lives.
Innovative Beauty Solutions
“My parents have always been at the cutting edge of hair and scalp treatments,” says Demi. “So it was important for me to ensure that the launch of our beauty services was equally innovative. We’re delighted to become London’s only Collagenwave treatment clinic. I’m personally really excited to be able offer our valued clients something new which they can’t get anywhere else. It’s the perfect launch treatment for our beauty services; I can’t wait to continue to source and provide even more innovations in the months and years to come.”
Lema will join the business in the New Year. She will be offering services including Botox and also Dermal Fillers. This will complete the salon’s transformation into a total hair and beauty destination.
“Expanding our beauty offering to include clinical and non-surgical treatments was the logical next step for us,” explains Joe, “and being able to include Demi and Lema in the plans makes the expansion even more special. Our clients really value being able to experience everything under one roof and they also love the fact that our daughters are part of the business. So many of them have been with us since day one and have grown their own families alongside us, so it’s exciting to have come full circle. As a family business we’re always looking for new ways to innovate and maximise our resources and there’s something very rewarding about being able to look to the next generation and know the business is in safe hands.”
