The M Life showcases the voices, stories, and salon secrets of some of the professional hair industry’s most celebrated artists. This brand-new series, hosted by Matrix’s Global Head of Education and celebrity stylist Alfredo Lewis, brings you an inside look into the stories, struggles, and successes of the Matrix M Team as well as other top industry professionals, and how they grew to become the people they are today, both in front of and behind the chair.
As a brand that is committed to being the most inclusive in the industry, Matrix didn’t hold back. The guests and Alfredo discuss their unique life experiences as hairstylists, covering everything from body confidence, to sobriety, to racial justice, and more, showcasing that all hairstylists can think outside the box, believe in your dreams, and dare to take risks.
In addition to the voices and journeys revealed during the interviews, the M Life episodes will dive into the newest innovations from Matrix with hands-on transformative demonstrations across a variety of hair types and textures in every episode. The guests will also be sharing their favorite salon secrets for creating beautiful results on their clients.
In the premiere episode, debuting on December 6th, Kara Williams, a hairstylist, Matrix Brand Ambassador, independent educator, and salon owner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, sits down to share her journey and the risks she had to take to become a successful stylist. Kara also gives a hands-on demonstration on her client Char, showcasing her favorite brick lay balayage technique using Matrix’s first ever pattern preserving lightening system, Curl Lights, designed specifically for curly & coily hair. M Life will be a recurring series, with new episodes airing monthly on Matrix’s YouTube channel. Each episode will feature an industry expert member including Kara Williams, Eric Vaughn, Greg Gilmore, Pati Rodriguez, Cynthia Lumzy, and Philip Wolf.
