KAM Hair and Body Spa in Lossiemouth are celebrating their 30 years in business! In recognition of the anniversary, they have digitally compiled a Collection Look Book.
In their 30 years, KAM have grown their business to be both hair and beauty; they have also worked backstage at many local and industry events and attended Fashion Weeks. Also they shown themselves as a team of fantastic creative hairdressers; they are constantly striving to create new collection imagery showcasing their hairdressing skills. Their collections have won them a number of awards over the years; these include Matrix Destination Fame and the British Hairdressing Awards Scottish Hairdresser of the Year. With that in mind, we take a look down memory lane with owner, Karen Thomson, with a Collection Look Book; a glimpse at all of KAM’s collections from over the years and the inspiration behind them:
2012 Men’s Collection
A Collection Look Book begins with our first men’s collection! With this collection we wanted to show our skills in regards to men’s hair. We wanted to work with different hair types and textures to create looks with strong lines and shapes and soft colour.
2012 Woman’s Collection
Our very first KAM Woman’s collection! This collection was all about creating beautiful hair and also showcasing gorgeous pastel colouring. This was one of our first collections. Many of the cuts and colours are still very much on trend today. We also used a member of the KAM team as a model in this collection too!
2013 Jewel Collection
Our Jewel Collection was incredibly fun to create. It allowed us to create our first collection based on a specific theme – the opulence of precious jewels. Colours were exaggerated and shine was heightened to convey the dazzling, light-reflective qualities of a rare stone.
2014 Enchantment Collection
Another collection that allowed us to delve into a theme. This collection was inspired by fairytales but given a dark twist.
Our first collection that we entered into the British Hairdressing Awards. It’s crazy to see how far our work has come in the past 6 years. This collection also goes to show that trends do come back around. Some of these looks, such as the chin length bob and hair texture being on trend today.
2016 Graphite Collection
Our first collection in black and white and one that really pushed our boundaries and showed of our KAM creative work. We absolutely loved this collection and the different skills it shown, from precision cuts to strong shapes and texture. I love how the black and white works to show off their haircuts and styles.
2017 Affliction Collection
We loved the colour and messy bun styles that were involved in this collection. Aside from the strong colour, this collection was all about creating wearable styles and styles that our clients would request in the salon.
2018 Grit and Grace Collection
Our second black and white collection and the collection that I won the British Hairdressing Awards Scottish Hairdresser of the Year category with in 2018-2019. I put everything into this collection and loved creating these high-fashion looks. By having the collection in black and white it also allowed the images to really stand out and showed of the hair textures.
2019 Identity Collection
With the fantastic feedback of our 2018 Grit and Grace collection we wanted to create another beautiful collection in black and white that showcased an array of hairdressing skills from straight and smooth to textured and voluminous as well as hair ups. These were all looks we knew clients would love and that focused on identity and showcased expression and character through hair.
2020 Cherish Collection
With the Covid-19 pandemic it meant that unfortunately in 2020 we couldn’t create a brand new KAM collection due to restrictions and had to put together a unique collection using imagery from our KAM collections over the years and features some of our favourite looks from our past collections. We’re delighted that for 2021 we were allowed to shoot again and we hope to share with you our brand new 2021 collection incredibly soon!
