Charlie Miller Managing Directors, Jason and Josh Miller were joined by their parents and business founders Charlie & Janet Miller, beauty salon owner Lauren McGinty, management and staff to celebrate the opening of the company’s very first hair and beauty venture.

On 28th October, clients entered the 2500sq ft site at Raeburn Place in the Stockbridge locality of Edinburgh. This was in conjunction with award-winning local independent beauty salon, Wo:mankind Beauty Clinic. It followed the official ribbon cutting by Charlie Miller Salon Manager, Hannah Lennon.

Style, Quality and Creativity

The Charlie Miller brand began in a gent’s hairdressing salon in 1965. It now leads the way consistently with style, quality, and creativity. It now boasts a portfolio of 5 high-end luxury hair salons throughout Edinburgh employing more than 100 staff.  It’s the company’s first salon to include beauty to its list of services.

“It’s wonderful to have opened in Stockbridge alongside a host of well-known independent and national businesses. It’s also great to be part of its wonderful village vibe”, comment the MDs. “For over 50 years our stylists have been cutting, colouring, and styling hair; now, we have the bonus of being able to offer beauty, nail and make-up services. Wo:mankind is a beauty business that with a very high reputation in the city and the industry. Like us, it is a family business. We love it that Lauren leads with strong values of customer service and client care. These also resonate fully with our own.”

Wo:mankind Beauty Clinic owner, Lauren McGinty says: “From my very first conversation with Josh and Jason Miller I knew I was embarking on a dream-come-true to work with this truly inspiring family-run company. As a teen I worked as a Saturday girl at Charlie Miller and the standards then were always a benchmark for me. I knew I wanted to do hair or beauty and to follow in my dad’s entrepreneurial footsteps, so in 2006 I opened my first salon in Stockbridge going into business with my mum. Throughout the 15 years in the salon there has never been a moment when we have sat still and when the opportunity came about to set up a clinic in Charlie Miller.”

Raeburn Place Foundation

The development of Raeburn Place is by the Raeburn Place Foundation, a charity set up in 2014. Its aims include widening participation in sport and celebrating the heritage of Raeburn Place. “The Foundation welcomes Charlie Miller to Raeburn Place Development and we wish them every success.  The opening is also an exciting addition to the diverse mix of high-quality businesses which the development offers,” commented Ron McNab, Acting Chairman, Raeburn Place Foundation.
