Take Control Now: ghd’s Pink Campaign

ghd, a global leader in high end professional hair-styling tools, has raised over $20 Million for breast cancer charities globally. This month it also launches the 17th limited-edition pink collection and Take Control Now campaign in support of breast cancer charities.

An evolution of 2020’s successful Take Control Now campaign, ghd has partnered with eight incredible muses for the 2021 campaign. They communicate a powerful and emotional message around the importance of self-checking for both yourself and your loved ones.

The limited-edition collection features the campaign messaging – TAKE CONTROL NOW – on the styling tools, providing women with a regular reminder to self-check for signs of breast cancer Every. Single. Month.

“I truly believe that as a business, if you perform well, you can give more back. At ghd, we have donated over $20million to breast cancer charities globally; we are committed to delivering even more to our charity partners moving forward.

“The ghd and breast cancer charity partnerships are very much a part of our brand DNA.”

“Each year we devote time to a moment in the calendar where we, as a brand, want to give back and raise awareness of this important topic.

As a trusted brand loved by millions of women across the world, we have a unique and powerful opportunity to connect and communicate with our consumer via our tools. Our mission is to empower and remind women to self-check every single month, while also raising valuable money for charity.”

ghd invited four young women who have never self-checked to read the intimate stories of people who have been affected by breast cancer, in the hope that hearing these stories would make them prioritise their health and start self-checking on a regular basis.

A mother, Lesley, whose daughter Hatti has breast cancer, shared the personal breast cancer stories; a husband, Asad, whose wife Sania has breast cancer; a sister, Medina, whose younger sister Nadia has breast cancer; and a young lady called Jen, who has lived with breast cancer for 10 years.

After hearing these emotional stories, all four young women transformed their views of self-checking and also committed to self-checking their breasts Every. Single. Month.
