Dimensional Blonde Curls: Tips for Blonde Finishing

Learn how to create the most amazing dimensional blonde curls with Lindsey Olson, Sam Villa Ambassador.

When styling hair, dimension is crucial to accentuate texture and finish. It’s hard to see detail on extremely light monochromatic blonde, but the right balance of light and dark blonde tones together creates the perfect palette to capture light and reflect shine and curl pattern. Lindsey Olson, Sam Villa Ambassador @lindsey.marie.olson, offers tips for gorgeous blonde curls.

Having dimension in blonde hair allows texture to pop because the lighter parts have a darker background for contrast. It’s especially important to have that dimension at the base, curls should always have a deeper base color to standout,” explains Olson.

Hot Styling Tip: When working with thermal tools, remember that blondes show everything, so bevel or round the section upon contact to prevent iron marks.

Dimensional Blonde Curls

▶ Section hair while working with Sam Villa Dry Sectioning Clips for control.
▶ Dry hair with a Sam Villa Vision Blow Dryer and ceramic round brush – blow dry Redken Full Frame 07 in on dry hair to create volume.
▶ Use a 3/4” Marcel iron and spiral tong hair with Redken Iron Shape 11 to set hair.
▶ Break set up with hands.
▶ Use a diffuser to create volume and a lived-in feel – allow the diffuser to do the work, keep hands out of the hair.
