Celebrity Stylists Thank Pandemic Heros

What’s one way of expressing gratitude to frontline pandemic workers? Hair stylists Lucy Halperin, Jeremy Tardo and Amanda Shuttleworth knew exactly where to start!

It’s been a very rough year – more than a year – for all of us. Everyone has had to make sacrifices: business closures, remote working, isolation, to start… and for all too many, terrible losses of jobs in some cases and the death of friends and family. And throughout it all, some categories of jobs were called to the forefront of the battle on COVID-19, mostly health care workers in hospitals.

This is why hair stylists Lucy Halperin, Jeremy Tardo and Amanda Shuttleworth came up with the idea of Frontline Fortnight, a platform to connect salons and hairstylists with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff. From May 23rd – June 5th, frontline workers will be able to sign up for free hair services from some of the best celebrity stylists in the business, as well as at salon’s across the country, as a small gesture of gratitude from the industry.

They came up with the idea as a way to give back at the start of the pandemic, but they also wanted to ensure salons had time to get up and running and safely before offering to host frontline workers. During that time, the team worked tirelessly to sign on salons and freelancers so there would be an extensive network in place to treat the nurses, doctors and hospital staff on the front lines to even a limited window of time dedicated to luxurious personal care.

The ultimate goal was to bring on hairdressers in all 50 states across the US and in London, where Lucy is currently based. A-list celebrity hairstylists David Babai, Benjamin Mohapi (Benjamin Salon), Johnnie Sapong, Mara Roszak (Mare Salon),Jenny Cho, Mira Chai Hyde and Ted Gibson, as well as amazing hair dressers from Mèche Salon, Sally Hershberger Salon, 901 Salon, and Ramirez Tran Salon are already on board, with many others also joyfully joining them in this initiative.

Frontline workers are already signing up, and Frontline Fortnights continues to recruit both individual hairstylists and salons. What better time to take care of each other? Giving to those who have already given some much.
