Kerry Mather, owner of KJM Salons in Fleet is celebrating after being announced as an international finalist in the 2021 Australian Hair Industry Awards.
Launched in 2012 by publishers Mocha Group, the AHIA’s are the trusted national award platform which provide a benchmark of excellence across specialist, group and individual hairdressing categories. And this year the competition has been opened up internationally, allowing hair stylists from around the globe to enter by submitting their incredible hairdressing work in pictures.
Kerry joins seven other hairstylists who have finalised for the title of International Hairdresser of the Year.

Kerry’s outstanding talent and creativity ensured her photographic work stood out, while her written submission caught the hearts of the comprehensive list of industry judges, putting her in the running to win International Hairdresser of the Year at the 2021 AHIA Creative Gala Night of Nights on Monday 14th June at Star Casino in Sydney.
Thrilled with her achievement, Kerry said: “Following a year of so much global uncertainty, I am delighted that my creativity and skill has been recognised by the AHIA judges. I am so lucky to be part of the wonderful worldwide community that is hairdressing – despite everything this year has thrown at us, we have pulled together and supported one another throughout. I feel very proud of what I have been able to achieve this year and can’t wait to tune into the awards ceremony.”
