Breaking News! John Paul Mitchell Systems Underscores Commitment to the Salon Industry with $4 Million USD Salon Jumpstart Stimulus

Today, John Paul Mitchell Systems® (JPMS), leading global manufacturer of professional hair care including the iconic Paul Mitchell brand, introduced a robust stimulus plan solely designed to support hairdressers and salons.

This two-part program will help salons ease the financial strain, maintain deep sense of community, and rebound more quickly.

Since day one, our salon partners have been the heart of everything we do. With that, we have shifted our focus for 2020 to protecting our industry by supporting our most valuable partners: salons and stylists,” shared Michaeline DeJoria, Vice Chairman of JPMS. “We are working to provide support for our global partners, while also working to generate awareness around the need to rally behind your local salon professionals during these unprecedented times.

The JPMS Salon Jumpstart Stimulus is a $4 million USD program that will include free hair color, free back-bar product, enhanced education and digital support for participating salons. JPMS is partnering with theirr loyal salons and distributors on flexible terms to get salons back into business as quickly and easily as possible.

The salon community has been severely impacted, with globally more than 80% of salons required to close temporarily, leaving hundreds of thousands of professionals without work and unsure of their future,” shared Jason Yates, Chief Operating Officer of JPMS. “Our Salon Jumpstart Stimulus will support the community now and lay the groundwork for future success. We’re providing necessities so that our JPMS salons can rebuild cashflow upon reopening, along with free ongoing education and business planning. This plan should help ensure that our most loyal customers are in a position to come back stronger.”

For the immediate future, @PaulMitchellPro on Instagram and @PaulMitchellHairCare on Facebook will be dedicated to providing ongoing education, with new classes being announced weekly. Classes will be led by various JPMS network professionals, including Business Coaches, Artistic Directors, International Trainers and National Educators, highlighting what they do best through inspirational stories, business building ideas and artistic inspiration to help prepare everyone to come back better than ever. The brand’s consumer handle, @PaulMitchell, will also feature a continuous stream of stylist and colorist content in order to amplify their voice and provide them with a platform to remain engaged with consumers while they can’t see clients.

In addition to the salon focused effort, JPMS is also contributing locally by manufacturing hand sanitizer —more than 20,000 units of the 80% alcohol spray formula— which will be donated to high-need groups who are facing shortages, such as Southern California first responders, Los Angeles police officers, and low-income families with young children. The sanitizers will be manufactured in conjunction with company’s longtime partner, Bocchi Labs and will be ready for donation in the coming weeks. The company has also designated several high-need groups to receive JPMS™ care items such as shampoos and conditioners, in addition to the hand sanitizer.

Salons and stylists are encouraged to visit PaulMitchellPro.com for the latest updates on the JPMS Salon Jumpstart Stimulus package and for up to date COVID-19 industry resources and seminars.
