The event was attended by 1,700 people from nine countries and areas in Asia, mainly consisting of Shiseido Professional customers such as Beauty Creators (hair designers), salon owners, and beauty journalists. Meet the Beauty Innovator Award Grand Prix winners…
Shiseido Professional held their big annual event Beauty Congress 2019 at the Maihama Amphi Theater, under the theme “TOGETHER WITH BEAUTY CREATORS”.
Ms. Katharina Hoehne, Chief Officer and Vice President of the Global Professional Business Division, CEO of Shiseido Professional Inc. kicked off the event with an opening speech. This was followed by the official awards ceremony for the Beauty Innovator Award Grand Prix, a large-scale photo contest for Beauty Creators in Asia. Sixteen grand prix winners were celebrated and awarded trophies in two categories: Total Creation (edgy, creative hair design different from the salon style) and Salon Creation (salon-creative style hair color design).

One of the main highlights of the event was the technical demonstration given by thirteen top artists from the ABA (Asia Beauty Academy), an association of Japanese beauty salons dedicated to the development of the beauty industry in Asia.
Later at the main event space, SS2019 hair trends show of Shiseido Professional Beauty Innovators by Joji Taniguchi, Teruaki Shinjo, and Mikiya Fujioka, Shiseido Hair & makeup Artists.
Representing the young talented Beauty Creators of Japan, a new hair creative unit “ TENSIZE ” consisting of Mr. Soichiro Uchida (LECO) and Ms. Sayaka Ura (OTOPE) created a fun experience for their audience by projecting a digital futuristic view of the world on a huge screen and exciting music.
Four top Taiwanese salons part of the Shiseido Professional Taiwan Consultant Team performed a magnificent hair show under the theme “Taiwanese natural beauty”.
As the last performer of the day, Mr. Hirofumi Kera, Shiseido Top Hair & Makeup Artist, magnificently presented a beautiful, magical passionate world with a co-performance of a Japanese traditional puppet whose face had been made up by Kera-san himself and a female model while beautiful live music played on piano and cello.
The congress closed with a brilliant grand finale including 60 performers, a party and a promise to see each other again at the next Beauty Congress in 2020.
