For this specific collection Detlef Gehlhaar was inspired by Berlin. The Weimar Republic of the 1920s brought forth an exciting free spirit of creativity and culture. During this time a golden age of the Avant Garde bloomed and grew leading to the Bauhaus and many other artistic and cultural innovations.
This spirit enraptured Berlin and gave the city a creative vibrance and energy during the 20’s – a time that was lost under the cloud of history but is now being re-lived. This collection reflects the spirit of lightness, colour and creative exploration that defined Berlin then, as it does again today.
